Jollibee plans to open in London in 2016......... http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/video/business/11/02/15/jollibee-to-open-in-uk-italy-by-2016
Earls Court maybe? Or round Leicester Square way. Those would be my guesses of the most likely locations.
I've been force-fed in many of their home outlets. Truly horrible Maybe if they source their UK outlet with UK ingredients their offerings might be acceptable for UK taste.
I don't really mind if my wife would order whatever jollibee may offer, for herself. Personally I would rather eat exlax in its purest form
I think there may not be enough Filipinos, even in the busier parts of London, to make the Jollibee restaurant a success. There may be 200,000 Filipinos in the UK, but they are spread out and can be in all sorts of out- of-the-way places. It's not like the USA where half of all 3.5 million Fili-Ams are in two states : California, and Hawaii.
But I think the majority of Filipino in the uk reside in London I would choose kfc over jolibee looking at the crap they serve up in the Philippines .
I don't know the demographic breakdown of Filipinos in the UK. For sure there is more in London than any other place. But a majority? I wouldn't be so sure of that. Seems to me Filipinos are scattered all over. I always take a look at where all the other boxes have come from that the balikbayan guys have in the back of the van when they come to pick up mine. There's some right out-of-the-way places, but even out-of-the-way places have nursing homes. For example this Fil-Brit guy I know who came over from Cebu as a kid aged 12, told me that there's about 1,000 Filipinos in Newport, South Wales even though it's a right dump in decaying terminal decline. I'd expect there to be small Filipino communities like that dotted all around the UK. They're definitely not, like some foreigner communities in the UK like the Japanese are, all concentrated in London.
Hospitals are a big employer of filipinos too - not just southern ones! Only one thing is worse than Jolibee - Amplyana. Definitel an unacquirable taste! Jolibee, you and your creepy bee: please stay in London
how can you say that @uklove when its the best spag we have been having since we were kids not to mention very affordable
well i am quite a food junkie, trying food is what i do best and comparing it from one resto to another, I was amazed how simpsons fish and chips are claiming that they have the best fish and chips all over UK apparently they are not, good thing a local not famous but tiny take away shop does it better than simpson's still jolibee will always be No.1 to the hearts of all kabayans out there
Obviouly, it seems, you haven't sampled the delicacies at "Casa Dominic".... Spaghetti is an art form, just in the cooking process, the sauces, either the simplicity or complexity of them, elevate the dish to celestial level. dreams are made of the stuff... How can you call Jollibee's sweetened, coloured poster glue to the real thing??? I am blessed......... I am Italian............ All in good fun.
the asian way of cooking is so different from the westerners way of cooking, i love both ways dont get me wrong its just that we grew up with the jollibee way of spag
Not too long ago my wife cooked a wonderful spaghetti dish with traditional sauce. All from scratch using fresh ingredients. Sadly not a single one of the extended family really liked it.
