Is £2.20 too much to pay for a cup of tea?

Well a pint of beer can be over a fiver which is why people drink at home and the pubs are dying.

There are plenty of stupid things you can spend your money on even here in the Philippines, Starbucks being one of them.

I spent around a tenner for a breakfast at Coffee Project near the house the other day, the bread and waffles are not very healthy and the bacon is not great as it's a honeycured sweet bacon but overall it was very nice, worth a tenner, probably not.

    I do agree with you.

As an ex Licensee, and still holder of a personal License, I can see that Pubs are having a torrid time with power expenses, Minimum Wage and enough taxes that eventually will sink them. The breweries overcharge their own tenants on their products and despite the fact that freeholders can shop around and are able to save a few bob, they still feel the pinch.

A 4 pack of pint sized cans of lager will do me all week and a little over for a paltry 6 quid

    £2.20 try the motorway services!!

when I was on the road often found drivers like a McDonalds breakfast bap and coffee for £2.99
Or Greggs. But both are very high carb, I always avoided.
Always found the coffee sachets good at 20 sachets for £2 at B&M

My 750mil bottle of Tanduay 80 proof rum, at p125 is fine for me (ie, less than 2 quid).

Coffee has gone up a little, at p157 for a 185g pack of Nescafe.
