GF just had text + email. Documents / decision letter will be with her tomorrow (Tuesday) or Wednesday.

Just used 2GO tracking (the GWF reference is used) - documents uplifted 9.14 pm Phils time - heading for Bacoor. Should be there in the morning.

Got some news today. 6 month visitor visa approved & issued! We're both delighted and can now make plans and take things to the next level after chatting seriously since March of this year.

Massive thanks to everyone for your support & encouragement. I was unaware of this great site before our first, unsuccessful, application was submitted. Armed with advice gleaned from here we re-submitted which has led to today's amazing news!

Kris and I are aware that our chosen path - for her to come to the UK before we had met in Phils was the more unconventional and probably tougher route - but fortunately the UKVI were persuaded by the masses of supplementary information we provided in support.

The key point I think for anyone facing a first refusal is to consider very carefully the reasons given for the rejection and to systematically address each of them in the second application.

I'm like a dog with two tails at the moment and Kris is equally happy!

The next stage of our journey begins today.

Absolutely @DJB - so much useful advice here. Another key factor in our favour was that luckily we were able to address all three reasons set out in first rejection letter. As @Timmers and others repeatedly say not every Filipina will unfortunately be able to.
