Whatever happens, don't despair, keep your spirits up and give them both barrels if you think they playing silly buggers just for target's sake.

The first time we paid extra to have an appointment mid-afternoon and paid extra to have the decision delivered by courier...but we went with the standard 15 day turnaround.

Thanks @Aromulus - the slight irony is that I'm also a civil servant - just like the officials that will consider the application - but not the same department!!!

Would of been interesting to see how quick they did yours if you went for 3-5 day priority, I got email saying they couldn't process in time last week after we had paid priority, on the 23rd

As a matter of principle, I would not pay anything extra.
Priority or quicker service don't deserve the importance they are given.
It may make you feel better with yourself, but you are onle being taken for a mug by forking out extra money for exactly the same work.

Yeah I agree it is abit of a con, but last time we actually got the decision within 4days which is good if you want a quick decision

We didn't go for the priority service..it wasn't necessary in our case. Of more importance was a convenient appointment time and having documents/decision letter sent by courier.

The better half is also impatient, which doesn't help sometimes haha

Application was submitted 5 September. The appointment in Manila is next Thursday. Will let you know the outcome - will be seriously gutted if it's another refusal but the case is much stronger and we've directly addressed the reason for the earlier rejection so crossing all digits!

Day 15 tomorrow and still no text to say documents are on way back to Kris. The waiting is stressful!

Fingers crossed for her.... There were days my heart will pound every time I remember that I've been waiting for visa decision. I try to get it out of my head. Stress won't help and will make us look bad. :)

Hi again - I'm sure the answer will be somewhere on this amazingly helpful forum but can anyone please tell me when Kris would have to travel if she is granted the 6 month visitor visa? Is there any requirement for her to travel within s certain number of days from the commencement date on the visa? Like most on here we have not yet booked flights as we're waiting to learn the outcome. Also, what form does the visa document look like? Is it a paper certificate or is something stuck / applied to the passport? Many thanks. G
