Please for those who got married here.. Pls share your experience and knowledge.. Thank you sooo much!!. xxx
Leslie, take a look at this link, you will find all the information you need about marrying in the Philippines, I didn't get married over there but I'm sure some other chaps here that did will help you if you have any specific questions http://www.british-filipino.com/ind...he-philippines-and-settlement-in-the-uk.9718/
Than Thank you Timmers.. My timeframe to get all the requirements done is short that's why i need it in order step by step with time frame of how long to get this requirement from the British embassy here.. I forgot what it is called..
I know from reading other posts on getting married in the Philippines that you will have enough time to get married in the t, having said that none of us know exactly when baby will arrive Good luck.
Hi Leslie, I took my docs from the UK and went to the Philippines. My wife and I organised everything and married (civil wedding, not church) in 4 weeks. Hope this helps. Babies don't arrive when you expect, as you know!
Hi Aposhark!. We want to get married civil too.. What documents did you bring with you here?. And does he needs to go to the registry in england to posts the upcoming wedding here in the Philippines?. I forgot what it is called like you need to post your upcoming wedding for a few weeks?.
We did it in just over 2 weeks. That is from my departure in the UK to arrival back in the UK was 2.5 weeks. It needed some forward planning to do that and a little assistance. I could only get that amount of time off work, at the time. It was a civil wedding. There has been some changes to the requirements on the requirement for a CNI. I had to arrange my CNI before I left for the Philippines. This seems to be no longer a requirement. We found out what we needed to know by visiting VFS in Makati and the UK Embassy. You (future hubby) will have to make a trip to the UK embassy too, for the affirmation or affidavit. See below.
Checklist for Philippines 2015. Marriage. It appears to make it plain, what you will need: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...the_Philippines_leaflet_as_of_30_JAN_2015.pdf That being the case, gaining the CNI here in the UK seems to be no longer a requirement or time consideration. There are some threads on here relating to the affirmation / affidavit bit. It seems to have been simple and quick.
Have a look at this thread and what SunnyJim and StevePQR had to say on the topic of the affirmation or affidavit to marry. http://www.british-filipino.com/index.php?threads/affirmation-or-affidavit-to-marry.8907/ And here: http://www.british-filipino.com/ind...ry-from-1st-march-2014.8726/page-2#post-52561
Hi Leslie, 1) Please see the link in post #8 2) He will need to go to the registry office in the UK. https://www.gov.uk/marriages-civil-partnerships/overview
Fiance booked flight arriving on August 18th and also booked appointment to British embassy August 20th to get an affirmation.. ☺️
