    Hello to everyone again,

Its that time again! Time flies so fast.

My wife's arrived here on a spouse visa on the 14th of April 2014 therefor her visa run's out on the 25th of December. We need to apply for her FLR this coming year.

We are planning to apply in person at the Glasgow Office.

I have not done much research into this yet but i am guessing the documents required are the same as before with some new photos's and the 6 forms of ID, bills and council tax etc, I am aware of the NHS Charge and her Biometric card that are now required

I am just looking for reassurance that these are the correct forms that i am looking at first of all..

FLR (M) Version 04/2016 and the Financial Form FLR (M) Version 04/2016.

I am guessing we need to print these forms off now and fill them in as before my wife completed the form online....

I will get my head into this now and I am sure I will be back with more questions soon

    Kind Regards.....

    Kev

    Hi Kev,

Any particular reason why you are applying in person? It' a lot cheaper by post and there's no real rush this time unless she needs her passport in a hurry.

Yeah, pretty much the same as first time. Print off the form and fill it in. If you do do it by post you need to do the biometrics at a participating Post Office.

    Hi Maharg,

Hmmm, I just thought it was better to apply in person as I believe we get the result the same day. Life here has been pretty busy as my head has been far from the UKBA website but now I will get my head into it and suss out the finer details.. I was not aware it was cheaper by post. I just read the fee now is £811.00. There are the correct forms I am looking at?.

    Thanks,

    Kev

frankly---no point in applying in person--only needed for first FLR following a fiancee visa if the applicant wants to start work ASAP. save yourself £500. thats on top of the £811 fee. and the IHS surcharge.

2.5years for spouse visa and 6 months for fiancee..I'm confused.
I did FLR (M) by post recently and still on waiting period yet.

Maybe some of the other guys can elaborate on this.

Yes the for Spouse visa my wife got 33 months and I believe for the Fiance Visa you need to do one extra FLR Application before the 6 month Fiance visa runs out.

    Fiancé(e) > FLR > FLR > ILR
    Spouse > FLR > ILR

Kev is correct. You need to do two period s of FLR (or one spouse visa and one FLR).

    So it's 5 years.

We are just back from the Glasgow Premium Centre where my wife was successful in obtaining her flr(m). It did cost us an additional £500 to apply in person but we found out result on the day. My wife did not fancy waiting maybe 12 weeks for result if we applied by post.

Yep. The visa lasts 6months from the start date on the visa...not from the date she arrives in the UK. In that time you have to get married...then she can apply for the first FLR anytime within that 6 months. The fee is £811....plus the IHS surcharge of £500.
However...if you intend her to be able to work as soon as poss after the wedding...as we did....you can opt for same day service in person at a UKVI premium centre. But this will cost you another £500.
