I thought GMA did a good job... From my memory she started the beginning of the economic upturn that was missing since the first term of Marcos... She handed this all over to Aquino who seems to have taken all of the credit ever since..

As will Duterte for all the good things that come from Aquino.

Many analyses of Aquino's term reckon he achieved a fair bit, and certainly some of the fruits of his legacy will appear further down the road and be claimed as successes of the administration in power at that time.

Perhaps..But what did him the most damage IMO was the inactivity during the Bohol and Yolanda crisis!!!
Why do you think Roxas did so badly amongst voters here...He was in charge back then!
Where was all the money that the British sent from donation boxes from super market collection boxes etc ??
I know of expats here that did more for the the victims than him and with their own and locally raised cash.! They were driving over dangerous bridges and roads to deliver water and noodles to the people here that were suffering etc for months on end... Plus risking their own lives on overloaded Bancas full of charity raised goods..I`ll never forget the Expats and NGO`s that worked tirelessly back and forth to Leyte! Damn..They got so little praise it pisses me off!!
How dare he run for President!!!!!!!!
Anyway..He knows now... THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN LOUD N CLEAR!!
    Shame on them....Karma is awaiting.

I thought you were a 'centrist' when it came to Philippine politics

Roxas did surprisingly well in Bohol and Leyte.

I dont get involved in Philippine elections..Elections are over and I dont see this as a political matter anyway..Far worse then that!
Hopefully DU30 can get to the bottom of it now that he will be President of the P.I.. I hear that he has very strong views on the subject.

I see Duterte is now offering reward money to people who will inform on drug users.

Offering reward money to a population where there are an awful lot of people who would do or say anything for a bit of cash. How an he be sure he'll even only get guilty people?

And, remember, it is 'suspected' drug users that he has supposedly had killed.

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out.

Bad news if you are a dealer,
looks like he is trying to take out the drug lords.

It was/is a political matter, as most of the people who lined their pockets are still in a position of power.
The next couple of years are going to be interesting, however i have a sneaky feeling not that much will change.

Yes I agree the handling of those two crises was very poor.
