I have to say that so far, over 3 years, I havent seen anyone succeed in getting dispensation for the English Language Test, through applying through UKNARIC with a degree taught in English in the Philippines. That is the reality. I think Timmers fiancees case is the nearest I have seen to success using this option.

    Hi Nickel
I could be the bearer of bad news but you have a gauntlet to run I am a retired UK expat with 4 years under my belt and an AC13 to secure my Philcitizen status. I have been back to UK with my Phil wife on a visitors visa and spent maybe 100000pesos in trying to get a full fiance visa that we can both return with my wife having the right to work and gain a Nat Ins certificate but have been refused, even my local ( UK ) member of parliament applied for us but no joy ! My problem was not sufficient income ,or savings, or a formal job offer or property that would act as a permanent home, the UKBA are afraid that you will claim allowances if you are given the OK. My wife is a security administrator and was even offered a job for the Olympic Games site but the other criteria we failed on.
We did not try an agency as they will not guarantee approval and may well charge you for the priveledge of being refused !
We are always available for any advice !

Hi to you Gerry and Melinda. Yes that was sad that your wife was not granted "full? fiance visa".That is the reason they wanted to make sure that no one would be claiming any amount from the government or become a burden, that's where we have to prove we will not be.That could be a bad news, but My future husband says, "there were many who were granted Fiance visa ahead of us, and that is not impossible that we will get ours too...so long we show enough proofs..(honestly , more on WE TRUST DIVINE INTERVENTION) on this. :)
As with the agency, my fiance found one in UK at 900 pounds, but i never stop begging of him not to get their services as it cost so much, until finally i met one in Manila at a much lower cost, he gave me a discount of 20,000 because i am already done with English test and the TB test, so he won't be assisting me so much, just the finishing touches, and rechecking .Although most of the advises i got from here is to get a UK base lawyer or solicitor, but based on our interactions with them while inquiring, it seems that , in case i would have some challenges here, it is even more difficult to have them handle it at once .So i insisted to get one from here, based in Manila, but he can only help me , yes in Manila and not in VFS office in Cebu.
Well, this could be a joke, but someone says here, it depends if the ECO woke up at the right side of the bed haha. But fingers crossed, arms crossed, eyes crossed, everything that can be crossed be crossed, just so to have a fiance visa approved the first time and i claim it in Jesus name.
I would be asking and needing more advise for sure, and thank you that you showed concern Gerry, give regards to your wife Melinda.
    God bless us all !

Nothing much of a difference, Sheryl. Except for the Php4425 additional fee for Cebu branch.

any one applying for a fiancee or spouse visa---without the necessary income and or savings--with proof-----is simply donating nearly £900 to the UKVI---and its an easy -straightforward refusal. some 4000 applicants were recently refused on those grounds following an unsuccessful appeal in the UK courts. even divine intervention wont help.

if anyone is unsure about the financial requirements---just ask on this forum. no need to spend £100's with an agent.

    :)
Just to clarify, my fiance is a pensioner, and is he is still working 3-5 days a week and his yearly income exceeds than what is required , I know what you meant about "simply donating to UKVI" if we can not satisfy them with our supporting documents. But we are trying our best putting things together , just like what you guys did also, and we just want to be optimistic that we could be one of those who were blessed enough to have the visa granted. In fact our best is only 10%, the rest is DIVINE INTERVENTION. We do believe in that and we can never be without trusting God move in our life, especially in this Visa application.
We all may have different kinds of faith, and i respect you on that, But i will always trust God in this.God bless us all.

Finally i won ,was able to convince my fiance we wont be getting the UK immigration barristers services anymore, i found one in Manila, Visa assistance Services that will only be checking my documents and help me on the online registration , making sure everything coincides and should be watertight:)

As soon as you said that your fiancé was charged £900 I was pretty sure that he had used UK Immigration Barristers as that is their starting price. If you fiancé earned more money he would have been charged more. UK Immigration Barristers was set up by Tariq Rehman and you can read about him here...

Tariq Rehman is standing before a disciplinary tribunal tomorrow for failing to pay another barrister. And he stands before yet another disciplinary tribunal next month.

oh okay, what i was saying was this( "As with the agency, my fiance found one in UK at 900 pounds, but i never stop begging of him not to get their services as it cost so much,) copy pasted back ...he found one but we have not got his services...no commitment with them , no plan. And just for the sake that my fiance wanted the documents checked prior to submission, i sought a Manila based Visa assistance services. And regarding his income, i only mentioned he got more than the 18,600 base line....
and thank you for the info :)
