https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-latin-america-64037344 Will it ever be England again? We couldn't beat France but Argentina did
Good one... and he made a very good point about the US game. Ironically, there's probably a good analogy here between the US Golf tour and the EPL... they had (have? I don't follow it anymore) many players earning millions on the tour but not winning a major... and here in the UK we have lots of guys earning millions in the EPL but not winning a European or World Cup...
I've never downloaded a game to put on my Videoke before but because I thought it was exceptional I did this one Argentina went at France from the off... and again when it mattered in extra-time. Had we really gone for France from the off and ran as hard as the US did against us then, given the quality of some of the young players we've got, it may have been a different story. As mentioned elsewhere, maybe some of the team are so content with the millions they are earning through the EPL that the World cup isn't such a big deal for them... and Harry Kane is a great midfielder but is that where you really want to see him playing?
The indulgence and pandering to get Kane to all time leading goal scorer for England contributed to England not progressing, injured against Iran but not substituted (probably thought he could score a few goals against a perceived lesser team) had him tired on the pitch against France, IMO as I said in previous post Kane was destined to miss the second penalty, he should never of took it! but again pandering and selfishness took over. The pandering to Kane also stifles the younger players creative abilities!

Is he? Sometimes the best can’t fit in with a team as the team seem to want to serve him rather than look at options.
You're right John. Southgate is too cautious and not one for taking risks. Look at Alex Ferguson and how he brought the youngsters in which made United such a dominant force.
