Patch I found that on Google maps, it's about 2 and a bit times the distance I have to travel, so from the airport at a guess it might be 900 peso or so, about 14 quid.

I arrive in Manila the day before you, only flight I could get, this time I was thinking about using Manny's yellow cabs, they are immediately to the left about 20 metres as you exit the glass door at the front of the terminal, I have no idea what price they are but they look more comfortable than the broken down wrecks I usually travel in :)

If I were you If the condo people can organise a car for you that is cheaper than 900 peso then it's probably worth it otherwise I would use the white or yellow cabs right outside the terminal door.

If you want you could PM me your UK contact number, I can let you know how I get on with the yellow cabs on Christmas day :) As Florge says if you use a regular taxi you can get as far as Novaliches for only 300 peso and that's about twice as far as you need to travel but seriously, first time there, use the accredited ones it won't be that expensive and it is safer.

As I mentioned Yellow cabs at the rank, out the main door and about 10 to 20 metres to the left. Accredited (ticketed) taxi's, out the door a few metres to the left cross the road then go into the office to your left there will be plenty of people trying to guide you there, you tell the girls or the guys working behind the counter exactly where you are going and they will give you a ticket with the fare detailed. When you arrive at your destination you pay the driver the amount on the ticket plus whatever you want to give as a tip, I would suggest a 100 or 150 peso tip as it is Christmas.

Last word of warning, there will also be an army of people at either taxi rank who want to load your bags on the taxi, two bags will be two people, they will both want a tip, 20 peso each is reasonable but they will make you feel like you are a cheapskate. You can refuse if you want but the driver will be nicer to you if he is sure he is getting something extra as he has already seen you tip the baggage handlers.

I would too if it were my first time there but I think I will try the yellow cabs, at that price it's not a bad deal, should cost me about 160 peso to get home, the metered rates are set by law by the LTFRB all the taxi's should be using the same rate. The Coupon taxi's on the other hand are a pre determined contract price.

That site was a good find Patch!
