congratulations! We too got the visa reasonably quick , processed in manilla on the 19th dec and received it 1st Feb!! Has anyone here got any useful links as regards what your spouse visa entitles your wife to? We receive the visa but with no advice on what we can and can't do!! Things like, registering my wife at the doctors in the UK, where in the world she can travel with me on the spouse visa….. etc etc Links anyone?
You can register at a GP no problem. Just say she is your wife. Or, at least, that was the case with us. A spouse visa makes no difference with travel. You still need to get a visa to go to France!! Pain in the arse, quite frankly.
I'm afraid the loved ones cannot go very far, below is a list of countries Filipinos can visit without a visa. Your wife will be entitled to free NHS treatment, she will be able to apply for the all important NI number and begin to work if that suits. For travelling around Europe she will need a visa as Maharg mentioned earlier. http://philnews.ph/2014/04/23/list-of-visa-free-countries-for-filipinos-released-by-dfa/
thanks for that, yes Paris , how did you guess???? LOL how long did it take you to get the visa for Paris? was it an easy thing? all done from the internet?
Congrats Han Lan and Lin Lin I will be returning to UK with my wife on 6th Feb It's good to hear of so many recent successes and not at the expense of using costly immigration advisers
hi anne, do u know how long does it take to get back those documents through their courier? my husband got his email too dated feb 2.. tnx
Hello piglet. Looking at other members who availed the courier service, the documents usually arrive in 3-7 working days. In my case, I did not avail such services so I waited 4 working days before I went to VFS and get my visa. Within that 4 days, I was expecting a notification for the availability of my documents, unfortunately, I received none. I just printed out the e-mail from Manila hub saying "your visa will be despatched shortly"and presented it to VFS officers in Cebu.
thanks anne..oh dear 3-7 days thats a long way to wait lol..my hubby is in davao at the mo...is there a way to track it?
