BUY or RENT a Filipino property?

    Interesting point you make about a geological survey. A must for a housebuyer in most parts of the Philippines. You are the first, other than I , to have made that point.

    I don't want to bore you folks and thank you for all the great tips.

    I'm thinking of going to live in the Philippines for 6 months from December the 1st.

    I just want to see if I truly like it as much as I think - its now or never.

    I just lost a very close friend and its made me think a bit. He was only 57.

    If I do buy a flight...do I get an open one or do I get one coming back in 6 months.

    how does it work??

    You must have an onward journey but it does not have to be a return to place of origin, so you can get a cheap throwaway ticket to Hong Kong or the likes.

    If you'r coming back in six months, it's cheaper to buy a return ticket.

    TigerAir, Clark to Singapore is the normal choice of cheap throw-away ticket favoured by long-term visitors. Cheap cheap! ;)
