In my opinion, this is getting to the point of being sublimely ridiculous.

Every time they launch a "new" phone, amid great fanfare, they seem to be falling flat on their faces as the most publicized feature is easily messed up with, or doesn't work properly...

Every launch, has had a setback of some sort, wether be the aerial, the mapping, the camera, now the fingerprint security...:erm::erm:

And gullible people queue up at nigh, in all weather, to throw money at them...:(

For me, the real issue will be when someone proves they can take a persons fingerprint remotely by hacking an iphone and then installing some malware onto it..

Or is that me being too Sci-Fi..

I'm in Cardiff and having just walked past the Apple store, I can see the lemmings queuing up to be ripped off. Like lambs to the slaughter. All the mobile phone stores have posters advertising 'limited I iPhone stock' and of course we all know the truth! Or am I getting cynical in my old age?!

You have a cooling off period, in which you are entitled to change your mind about the purchase.;)

Do not open the box, tho................

Once you break the seal on the box, it will be extremely difficult to return for a refund , unless there is something wrong with it.

I often encounter my Apple products are over heating and when I take it back to them they change it within 5 minutes. Also they have this system, if your Apple product is no longer under warranty, they will replace it with exactly the same product but you have to pay them another £200. It is not exchangeable to a different model like from iPad 2 to iPad 4. If this is the case they will tell you to sell your old iPad to eBay then come back and buy the new model.

Apple products... You pay a premium for something you get cheaper from Samsung, Sony and others.

I know the operating system is different, but what can an Apple imac do what a PC of the same spec not do? And what can an iphone do that another (yet cheaper) Samsung phone not do?

I guess some people really like spending extra money for the sake of a name.

Due to the line of work I do (basically support public wifi in bars and resturants) iOS7 and the new iPhone has really caused quite a bit of grief.

Although apple products, once they are fully working, are really good. It can be said that sometimes they don't always put the effort into making sure its functioning correctly. One example of this is the hackaround so you can access the camera roll, social feeds and contact list, even when the phone is locked.

From reviews I follow on technology websites, although iOS7 is pretty good, its making some tasks quite a bit more difficult.

Suggestion to those gullible enough to buy a new iPhone on release. DON'T, remember its not been fully tested, and although you may have a phone that works, there is bound to be an upgrade a few months down the line with better specs and later updates.

It's lucky my work pays for mine, I don't need to buy it, Phew!

I've got the iphone 5 for the wife and me purely for the face time. It is the only apple products we have and I'll not be buying another. Vastly overpriced, poorly developed in that they wheel these things out and wait for the public to basically finish the R&D for them and report whats wrong with it then spend the next 6 months trying to fix it. It also makes me laugh because apples users tell you that their system is better than windows and its just a matter of getting used to it. So these are the same people that are all over the internet now complaining about this ios7 being too different, hard to use etc. Lol.

My next purchase will be more than likely a samsung. Properly developed, good products that are priced well and are far more flexible to use. ie dont use itunes!! As Sean says the spec of a PC you can buy that is similar in price to a apple would probably blow it out of the water.

Apple "fanbois" would disagree! In my not-so-humble opinion, you're paying at least a 50% premium to have the Apple logo on your device which often under-performs the competition.

My husband and children are fond of Samsung but it seems too flimsy for my liking! so I guess I go for the look and durability! But I am hoping they will make a bigger screen soon as my eyes are struggling with iPhone 5! :drama:

I am immersed in them. Our entire office ( well 2 now ) run either iMacs or the Apple laptops. We all have iPads or iPad Minis and iPhones. It is the wishes of the owner. He runs his side of the business with them and he gets a lot of use out of them.

I will say that support for Apple products is very good. And the iMacs are very stable. I havent seen an iMac fall down in nearly 3 years.

Their resale value is good. They hold their value. They seem to have an amount of durability about them.

I wouldnt say that they were better than Windows driven PCs but perhaps an alternative. I do curse them at times but there are plusses and minuses in both cases.

Have you tried the iPad Mini? Though you cant make phone calls with them as such, I know.

I am getting my wife an iPad Mini in October.

I haven't tried but my friend has got one and she wasn't happy, me and her sister are happy with our iPad 2 so she trade hers into an iPad 2 from CEX. I am getting iPad 4 to replace my iPad 2 for an update, just mainly for tethering purposes which iPad 2 hasn't got!

Whilst this might be good advice, the same goes for many other products including new releases of Windows.

In my case I have never bought a newly released Apple product.

I have tethered my wifes iPad 2 on several occasions. We do it when we visit the UK.
