It sounds like a Fiancee Visa might be the way to go. However you will need to carefully compile your combined evidence. Aquiring one is perfectly possible. Aquiring one before christmas is unlikely as it can easily take up to 3 months to process in itself.

Visit visas are also possible but although perhaps more appropriate for you, are more difficult to gain.

There will be absolutely no chance of getting a visitor visa if do not have significant reason as to have to return to Philippines if reliant on being sponsored by UK friend and monies coming from friend.

Need to show "sufficiently strong family, social or economic ties to the philippines"

I think a fiancee visa is to be used as an intention to marry, still requires a lot of work.

BUT if you then choose not to marry, i've no idea what the impact will be if you try again later with the real intention to marry?

2nd application may be refused due to miss use of 1st fiancee visa?

Visitor Visa "Sufficiently strong family, social or economic ties to the philippines"

    Reason to return:-

Have own property in the philippines

Have very young children left behind in philippines

Have significant well paid job and established life in the philippines

If there is any clear advantage to not returning to the philippines then the visa will likely not be granted

    Sadly Return ticket proves nothing.

I had tried previously obtaining a sponsored visitor visa for my gf with no success

Unlike the law, the immigration services assumes applicant will be guilty of overstaying in the UK, unless there is substantial evidence provided that such an occurrence will not happen.

Sadly - Guilty until absolutely proven innocent :(

A true visitor for tourism, is someone who can afford flights and hotels and has well paid job

but will also have to have 'sufficiently strong family, social or economic ties to the country of origin'

and return ticket, plus evidence of sufficient funds whilst visiting the UK.

Just might be a good enough reason, but no guarantee.

In reality its not the embassy that is involved with visas, just that UK immigration service is also based at British Embassy in Manila.

I suspect it would be necessary to provide substantial evidence that your daughter is dependent on you and that you are not prepared to abandon her.

They may think that the ties are not strong as your prepared to leave her?

I think you could give it a try, but the application may well fail?

I do feel for you, it is really frustrating.

My own experience had been providing the same for philippine gf and failed 3 times.

Sorry i can't give you any better advice.

It's costly, but your bf seeking advice from an immigration adviser may find a way of getting to visit him?

If you do have success, others would be grateful if you could let them know on BF

The good news about the visit visa is that it is very affordable compared to, say, a Fiancee visa. So in that sense it is worth a go. I think in the region of £80 or so. But they are so difficult to aquire, by comparison.
