That is related to savings if you don't meet the financial requirement. If you meet it then don't concern yourself with that.
It seems hamstead doesn't meet the Financial Requirement through earned income alone based on his posting here:- I think bigmac was just trying to be helpful by pointing out that the calculation made by hamstead was somewhat over the actual amount needed
what i meant was--any cash savings used to make up for any income shortfall--as in your case----are subject to a threshold of £16,000----in addition to the 2.5 x factor. so--if your shortfall in earnings is £4000---you do need 4000 x 2.5=£10,000....+ £16,000 threshold--so £26,000--as i said previously. less than you thought ! mines a pint !
Quick check, shortfall in my state and private pension amounts to £4,800, so its £4,800 x 2.5 = £12,000...... + £16,000 = £28,000, which I have got
Sorry for the delay, but have now booked my flight to meet my fiancée in Cebu, how do I make appointment to put my visa application in please.
Apologies for the delay again, but getting no reply to my last question back in May, when I think the site went down, I panicked and signed up with an agency, which I am beginning to regret as I do not seem any nearer applying, never mind getting a visa for my fiancée. Could you please send me a link to a checklist of documents I require, as I am sure the checklist he has provided me is more stringent than the one I remember seeing.
Might be better hamstead if you post a list of documents you intend to submit then people can advise you on what to add or delete. You are retired so will meet the financial requirement in a different way than a lot of people did on the forum. It may confuse you if someone posts the list of documents they submitted for their application but applied under different circumstances than yours.

I'd say you've got everything covered, wait to see what some of the other members think. The only thing I will say is that if you have been married before you need to submit your Decree Absolute or if you are a widower I would include the death certificate of your deceased wife. EDIT: And just remember that your financial documents need to be no older than 28 days at the time of your online application.
Neither been married, and can prove finances when required. The points that concern me is that he needs my most recent email to the register office confirming exact intended wedding date. I have requested this from the local office and even phoned the head office, and they do not send out email confirmations. Even if they did the intended date set for October 8th looks highly unlikely now because of the delay. Also he is asking for proof of verbal conversations, not just chat logs. how do I satisfy that it is just video chat ? Also the affidavits are in order of being out of date as they state October 8th as wedding date.
Chat logs are fine, no digital media can be submitted etc. Proof of marriage will be fine, we just submitted a couple of emails from the Registry Office inquiring about the requirements to marry a Filipino, wedding ring receipts, emails from hotel inquiring about wedding reception costs and an email between the two of us discussing the wedding preferences. Don't worry about having a fixed wedding date as it is not required, you just have to submit evidence to strongly suggest you will be getting married.
I'm not sure I understood what you meant with the local office/head office not sending out email confirmations.. But we were able to provide evidence that wedding will take place through a provisional booking at the register office. We also did a series of enquiry emails with them asking for the process of marriage just to show plans are being made. This proof will be relevant when you answer question 1.9 of the Appendix 2 Financial Requirement form where you're asked to state the date and venue of your wedding. Hope all goes well with your application. Edit: I have to add that the date and venue we stated in our application were not followed as I left the country a month after my visa was valid so we moved our wedding a month later too.
Yes, before you get married you will have to give notice of marriage which means you will have to attend an interview where you will be asked to provide evidence that you are legal in the UK and free to marry, they will also ask you some easy relationship questions just to make sure its not an arranged marriage.
I know a couple who did not put a date for the same reason but submitted other documents like ring receipts, reception venue quote, etc... Like you said, as long as there's strong evidence, the ECO will issue a visa.
all i submitted was the printed receipt from the registry office for the booking fee for a provisional wedding date--about 4 months ahead of the visa application date. plus a receipt for her engagement ring.
