Thought I would be enjoying TV programs without commercials here. It turns out like we have back home, advertisements consumes more time than the program itself. Hey, I'm not complaining, just saying
Although I do agree that adverts are an absolute pain in the neck, I must also note that without them we couldn't have indipendent programming and I also believe that it is not as bad or as cheesy as in Pinas......... One can always switch over to BBC, wich is totally advert free. The remote is under the cushions on the sofa...
The UK is not as bad as USA for commercials. The commercials in USA are more frequent towards the end of the program. I don't think that happens in the UK but the nauseating thing about UK commercials on TV is that the volume on them is greater than the programmes.
The adverts are getting worst, its a while ago now that the ITV extended the commercial break especially around the popular soaps. As Aposhark said, its not as bad as in the US but we are getting there, Having said that, there are one or two quite amusing adverts but not many.
