When you state the sponsor form is filled in does that mean you have included the SU07 form, if you have you don't need it but I know a few here did submit it so don't worry about it.

Good if you could do a joint letter (signed by both of you) stating how you met, how you stay in touch and your plans together once in the UK

As bigmac stated, you need the tenancy agree to show that there is at least 6 months to run on it. Good idea to have a survey done of the property if you are sharing.

Regarding proof of marriage, try to get emails from the RO office, receipts for rings, suit hire quotes, reception quotes, cakes and the like. Because you are looking at a same sex marriage I would go the extra mile to convince the UKVI that you will get married.

Letter from employer, get them to state length of service, salary, how long you have been paid that salary for and whether your job is permanent or temporary.

Bank statement and payslips need to be original and no older than 28 days when you submit the application online.

I have something else to ask if ok by you all....

    1. we have only been together since June 2014 is this still ok ??
    2. my boyfriends TB certificate will be valid wen we apply for his visa but our planned travel date will mean it will be out of date we know we will have to get a new but is it still ok to apply know this

The TB certificate should be valid at the time of the application, I have heard that if the certificate has run out before the travel date then there is a possibility that your chap could be pulled aside at immigration and examined by a doctor, how true this is and how reliable I do not know and because of that I would say that if at all possible it is better to travel with a TB certificate that is valid.

The time you have been together does not matter, the fact you have met and prove that you have met at least once is the all important bit.

I've never heard of anyone having to wait long before handing the documentation in at the VFS office, you can book it online, I think the website gives you available dates.

Bear in mind you do not actually see a visa officer, you just submit your visa docs, remember to use the VIP service at the VFS office, its inexpensive and saves the loved one a little hassle and waiting about, you can book this online too (£25 extra or something like).

The VFS office is no more than just a collection point for the documents, they bag them up and send them to the British Embassy for processing.

yes--when you submit the form online--you then get asked to pay the fee online. another box takes you to the VFS site where you book a date for your partner to attend and hand in the printed off form---and the appendix 2--together with all the documents you will have sent over by then--so allow time for it all to arrive.

When he does submit the visa package at the VFS office don't do anything fancy like putting the paper work in a file or plastic folder as they will remove these.

You can use bulldog clips as my missus did and string all the docs together with a contents list of documents as the cover page if you like.

Remember to submit copies of any documents you want back, the original documents will be returned to you with the loved ones stamped passport.

The visa is around £956, you actually pay in USD, the extra would be the small cost of using the VIP service when submitting the docs, £25 or so.

Remember there is a premium service you can use for the application, it costs a few hundred quid more but you get the decision in around 10 days as opposed to the regular application which can take up to three months.
