Ok so we applyied for the visa at the end of june they got documents june 23 and while I am waiting I need to set up a plan for possible outcomes.

I cant take.for granted we are going to be approved so i need to plan for just in case we need to appeal.

So lets just say we are turned down september 1.
So if I appeal and send my paperwork back in 2 days. They have 28 days to issue the iaf, which could.take.us to october 3rd. We win the appeal Then they have ten days to issue the visa so thats october 13th. So she has to fly uk by novemeber 13th?

Do if we win appeal she will have visa by october 12th or do i have my calculations wrong?

Ok so case number two we are turned down novemeber 1, she gets the visa on december but is not fit.to fly, how do we appeal to delay the visa?

Why would she not be fit to fly? Is she pregnant?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I often read that appeals can take a lot of time. In fact, some applicants prefer to just re-apply because appeals can take up to a year, maybe even more, depending on the issue.

If you re-apply, you can realistically get a visa by January provided that you go the priority route for both applications and the processing time doesn't get worse. Currently, priority applications from the Philippines take around 3 months and UKVI says countdown starts from receipt of documents. So unless you're lucky, you are looking at around September 23rd for the decision - do the math from there. Don't forget to include extra days for delivery or scheduling appointments.

What visa are you applying for? A visit visa cannot be appealed

Don't know why you are thinking of being refused. Are you not confident with your application? Why don't you just sit tight and hope for the best

I know you said you don't want to take things for granted, I've been there, there are times I'd think what if my visa gets refused but I tried to just remain positive most of the time.

If you do get a refusal the decision on whether to get an appeal or not would be based on the refusal letter. If they have mistake on their side you would have high chance to win the appeal. If you are rightly refused then you are better off applying again and address the reason for the refusal.

You can always ask for a vignette transfer if you feel like she can't travel on the date that the visa is valid.

While I am postive; after being turned down for a visit visa for allmost no reason I have to be realistic and i can be positive whatever the outcome and deal with the challenge.
My main concern is that they received our supporting documents on.june 21 and the signed application on june 23rd and they will go ahead and deny us due to having no.signed application when its been received and probably.not opened.

While its all well and.good crossing.bridges when we come to them I have to think about a plan beacuse we may need to act fast.

This is a spouse visa so I believe we have the right of appeal.

So am i right in thinking they send her passport back to her, and if we appeal she must return to manila to hand her passport back in again?

    dont be so negative !!

visit visas are frequently refused--if there is a suspicion of a doubt. a spouse settlement visa cannot be refused provided you both meet the criteria. the UK treasury want the £££000's youre going to be paying in fees over the next few years. visit visas bring in ££ jack ****....and often end up in overstayers.

As a "realistic" person myself lol, I totally get you. There's always a need to prepare for all possible outcomes esp the worst.

But I think you have nothing to worry about. UKVI can't deny you a settlement visa just for any reason - there are "official" grounds for refusal which ECOs have to cite when refusing and I'm sure your worry is not a problem. If they have any issue with your documents, they'll get in touch with you. They won't reject your application right away. Good luck!

Thanks for your responses you are right I need to be positive. Its very stressfull process I lost my peace thinking of all the possible outcomes. I need to try and get on with life beacuse its still a long way to go till september 20th. The amount of energy it took to put the whole thing together really seems to have weighed me down.

I think my application covers all the bases and I have every reason to expect a good result. From a finacial point of view it makes sense another tax payer of good working age proping up the economy with no recouse to public funds.

You have some great accurate dates there. Unfortunately for us all, VISA Processing is extremely slow right now.
If you applied standard VISA( Priority is allegedly quicker??????) I think you are looking around middle of September before you hear anything.
It's nice to make plans, but I'm sure everyone will agree , until they get their processing time to an acceptable standard, we are wasting our time making any plans.
