Whatever links we check are broken and the only link we found that works has no available dates.

I read somewhere that you can walk in to the embassy on Saturday, is this still true?

My wifes passport is damaged so I think we have to do new application instead of renewing, which we could have easily done in Edinburgh or Cardiff.
    Unless we could still renew?

    Struggling to find information anywhere.

Looks like back to the good old days:

Step 3: Walk in to submit application and complete supporting documents, Mondays to Fridays, except holidays.

Checking civil registry which is different but needed appointmemts during Covid it has statement that no need for appointments.

Arrive early and write off the day for waiting. I would email them to confirm but looks like the days of appointments and managed visits are over.

Last time we were there that was the rule although when wife needed help she was able to get me from outside to help sort paperwork. In the good old days there was people wandering in and out and no checks. If you can avoid it then worth avoiding as will be long wait and potentially at least one trip to the post office on regents street for photocopying and envelopes or stamps.

Remember to get the tracked envelope for the passport being sent back before going to avoid wasting time. Also try and get the relevant number of photocopies for the forms. Maybe an extra copy or two.

Unfortunately her passport is damaged and her visa expires in February and we don't want to risk submitting a damaged passport for her next one.
Would we have to line up at the very back of the line again if we leave to photocopy? Don't want to have to come back again because they didn't have time for us.

Thank you very much for your responses too.

Been a long time since we were there. Seemed to remember that if sent away then got to go back to top of queue to complete. Can be frustrating and worth trying to make sure you have everything you need for the visit. Most of lists are accurate but seem to remember having to make a few trips to the regents street post office over the years.

Key items are the stamped address tracked envelope, multiple copies of the forms they want. Think they specify how many on website but an extra one is probably worth it.
