I took this test and answered as honestly as I possibly could...I had to make a few adjustments as it asked questions about central heating etc so I took that all into consideration and think I gave good balanced answers to gain a reasonably accurate result with this calculator..
There was no question about how I disposed of un recyclable materials so I assume that does not really matter in this particular calculation..
Please take a few minutes to take this test and share your results..
Looking at my results it seems that my carbon footprint is pretty damned tiny!!!
What a good boy I've been.

If you drive a lot and fly a lot you're pretty much buggered really.

One long haul and one short haul got me a score of 139% apart from that I don't drive, I cook my own stuff and I live in a tiny flat and just about never use public transport.

134%, tips, take a bus or train to work. How does that work. I'm a Decorator would look a bit silly getting on a bus with my paste-table and dust-sheets.

That use of your vehicle is part of your self employed businesses carbon footprint, not your personal footprint. :)

Like so many of these online survey's it is hopelessly inaccurate and poorly specified.

you would need to input miliage to sort out that anomally and with your house its about the thermal efficency not a tick box

Me also, except I didn't learn to drive till I was about 26...So it was dustsheets, rollers and tools on the bus, train and tube! The bus stop to the station was about a mile walk..
I used to leave it all on the job till that job was done..
When I eventually got a van it was pure luxury...

I reckon it's hopelessly inaccurate. I redid my answers to reflect that most of my travel is by train rather than car as I incorrectly answered first time and it still came out to 197 percent. Perhaps it was because I was answering the expenses for four people. If the government thinks the ideal carbon footprint is based on 5 adults sharing a 2 bedroom terrace house heated to 14 degrees C in winter they can stick their footprint and lead by example.

I'm not even going to try this. I fly every 3 weeks and a heavy turbo charged car. plus I do work in oil and gas. On the plus side I do compost and recycle:erm:

I wonder what Leo`s score would be as he flies around the world picking up awards?

Leonardo DiCaprio expanded his carbon footprint last week, taking a one-day trans-Atlantic roundtrip in a private jet. The actor, who entreated viewers to “work together” to fight climate change while accepting his first Oscar in March, flew 8,000 miles from Cannes to New York City to pick up an award from a clean-water advocacy group at the Riverkeeper Fishermen’s Ball.

    Use more public transport........
Yeah, easy peasy, carrying two cases of wine on non-existent buses from appointment to appointment at silly o'clock...
Whomever dreamt this up, ain't living in a real world.

Moral of the story is, if you don't want your house to become a pile of ash, don't compost too close to it, or at all........

So it could catch fire?? How cool is that!!
Must not let it though as fire will produce the wrong type of smoke and my 70% neutral Carbon foot print would be all blown to hell.
