Lisa. Chill.. Presumably the tracking status is shown online. Ours remained unchanged for ages. If you start contacting them and trying to chase them up all that will happen is you will get confusing answers like this one and end up getting more worked up than you were before. It's just a case of waiting for the outcome. Ours took longer than you have waited so far.
But Graham our status has changed, that's the point. They were saying it was in the queue. Now they're saying there's no status - like it isn't in the system. They thought we'd given the wrong reference number so obviously they can't find they application in the system. That's really worrying
Nope, no news. Still waiting to hear what's going on. They said on Monday that we should hear something in 4 or 5 days - at least that the application is still there and waiting to be seen. Feeling very anxious about it all
I understand why you are anxious but lets keep your fingers crossed and keep your chin up, I'm expecting a positive outcome for you.
Very true Lisa, the whole process and especially the waiting is quite stressful, its the not knowing that is the hardest aspect to cope with, your life is is in their hands. When you are waiting all kinds of negative thoughts fill your head which is only natural but its not often that when you think the worst that it actually comes true. Its not until its all done and dusted you can look at it in a different light, in a more reasonable and calculated way. How is the future hubby bearing up, positive or not?
I thought that the potential processing time for visa is 12 weeks? With August statistics showing 70% knowing in about 5 weeks (although no idea which type of visas that are dealt with in 5 weeks or what was the response?). I guess it will start to get busy for the border agency due to xmas visa applications? To add to the number of applications, Manila is also visa decision making hub for Hong Kong and possibly other asean region countries? https://www.gov.uk/government/world...f-the-uk-visa-application-centre-in-hong-kong
That makes sense Timmers. Thank you for those words of wisdom - I will try to remember them in my dark hours! Yes, 77% of settlement visas were decided by 6 weeks, in August. That's next week for us so fingers crossed it won't be long now.
All the best My wife is yet to apply and due to other Philippine departmental delays, 12 weeks is a small time to wait in comparison
That is decisions made. Statistically the rate of success is very high for Settlement visas ( Spouse and Fiancee) visas.
Manila UK Border Agency must also have had staffing problems, as they were recruiting for visa application processing staff earlier in the year. So there is possibly a back log? Just like the mess of the passport office in the UK
Processing times seem to vary enormously, over the course of time. It has been known for some people to take a day. And without rhyme or reason.
