Which VPN do you guys who live in the Philippines use for accessing UK and other countries media services like BBC iPlayer and Netflix and Amazon and so on?

Good you posted this, I hadn't realised mine is running out this month... I don't know how much I paid them last time but they want USD 49.90 for 24 months this time - says I get a loyalty discount.

    Smart DNS Proxy

TBH I don't really use it that much anymore only for watching BBC or pretending I'm in another country occasionally - I haven't had any memorable problems with it.

And I don't tend to use the VPN feature I usually just tell my PC to use one of their DNS servers and then make sure I am registered etc. so they know who I am.

I did try ExpressVPN - twice the price or more I think but it didn't impress.

I am using Surfshark. It informs me that it is protecting me from this that and the other too.

Yeah and you appear to be posting from China :)
I'm asking as I'm looking for something for my kids, I don't want to drill back home through our offices here in the UK as we've switched to a permanent distributed network solution and don't have a direct VPN connection anymore.

You're coming through as being at the southern end of Negros Oriental just now, so I'm guessing it's off just now.

I'll take a look at any that you guys reccomend, just now your's is off I guess but when it's on you appear to be in China or Australia.

I want it for watching British Tele mostly iPlayer so my daughter can use it when I am not there.

I was thinking about Nord VPN but I had gone round and used a comparison website so I could see that the fees have quite a wide range and I don't want to overpay for the service.

I took a mini PC over last year as a dedicated media PC for the TV and that had our business VPN on it but the 2FA (2 factor auth) meant that the kids could not use it so I would have to remotely to the PC and dial the VPN myself then respond here to the 2FA on my phone, it was a bit of a pain and then Ana went an broke the wee ThinkCentre PC, so I am taking another one over soon.

Yes, I normally have it set to Hong Kong or the Phils... for the best speed, but there's a whole list of other countries of course, should the Beeb, etc, disapprove of me watching their progs, or similar. (Tiktok for instance, will not be reachable if your indicated location is Hong Kong. Perhaps they're doing me a favour.lol )

If had decent internet in the UK I would host my own ZeroTier One system and create a permanent network with the house in the Phils but I'm currently on 4G internet at this new house in the UK at least until I get back from the Phils, it's an awkward building to get a full fibre solution into as the only easy place to drill through the wall is downstairs but that is the worst place to put the wifi router, so when I get back I will finally get full fibre installed but I'm going to use Powerline ethernet to distribute the signal around the house, that should be stable enough for ZeroTier to work at that point although I'm still not sure and it would mean leaving a computer on 24x7 and with current electric prices that's a lot of money.

That's all I use mine for these days, IPlayer, but my kids prefer Netflix and I've got tons of stuff on Plex so a bit of a waste really.

I use Amazon Prime video and the kids have been using my Netflix account for years now but I no longer watch Netflix in the UK, I'm probably overpaying for the Netflix account now as it's a lot cheaper in the Philippines.

I use 'MyFamilyCinema'... streamed (perfectly) through my el cheapo MXQ TV box. Fantastic selection of movies, documentaries, etc, for about £20 per year. :like:
Otherwise... YouTube, through the same TV box, or one of our Xboxes, via PLDT fibre broadband ... usually around 200megs, at p1999 per month.

TBH I wish I'd never let my kids watch tv.
