The picture of the bus above is from the internet. The picture of the cab below, was taken by someone Mrs Ash knows, in London, a few days ago....
No, the taxi driver looking for his final fare before retirement, the big one, London to Banaue by taxi via... Good job that they take Visa these days.
Haha. No. Just interested in some of the fantastic features of the Philippines. Seemingly nobody on the forum has been.
The problem with Philippine tourism is, how the hell do you get to beautiful places like this, and here is a prime example. Why should somebody travel from the UK by plane, and several uncomfortable bus and trike rides to visit an impoverished 4th class municipality in the Philippines with not much else there to see? If you are in the Philippines anyway, then fine, you can travel here and relax, but it seems strange to promote this as being a holiday destination from the UK.
You are probably right Dave. But those who can afford the time and money or even backpackers would have the inclination. And those that dont have kids. Is it so inaccesible? The underground river in Palawan is oversubscribed, for example.,
Never been as I always thought it not an appropriate trip with my kids in tow. Will go there one day..That I am certain of. 8th wonder of the world? Probably.
I guess that the easiest and best way to see the Banaue rice terraces is from above. 1 - Travel to Angeles City and the Clark airfield. 2 - Hire a private plane for a few hours. It just so happens that I arrived in Angeles yesterday by taxi (from Subic not London). However after today I only have four days here, I guess such an adventure needs a bit more planning. There are several places renting planes, here is one that gives rental prices and suggested tours: Airplane Tours and Rentals <== Link Prices seem quite reasonable. ==================================
Funny you should say that but I did wonder if it was best seen from the air. And likwise, the Chocolate Hills.
Just found this in Trip Advisor http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_..._Ifugao_Province_Cordillera_Region_Luzon.html
