Hello, I am planning to go to the Philippines in Jan for 3 months and my friend wants to go there in September for a year, does anyone know how she can get a visa for 1 year or if its even possible?
First you get a 30 day visa on arrival this applies to British passport holders, when the 30 days is up you need to go to your nearest Bureu of Immigration to get another 30 day visa this costs 3,000+ Php, then when the 30 days are up you again go to wherever your nearest BI is situated, this time you can get a 59 day extension I cant remember how much that cost but i think it was 5,000+ Php, from then its just repeated up to a maximum of i think 1 year. You will need to take your passport with you obviously, plus a photocopy, there are always photocopy places nearby (Filipinos are never slow to spot an opportunity to make money ) Plus the usual form filling, and after the 2nd extention they will require you to get the Alien Certificate of Registration plus more Php. Its more fun in the Philippines
30 days free upon entry, before the 30 days expires go to BoI for 29 day extension, before that expires need to get a 30 day extension that is the 59 days. Before that expires need to get I think is a 3 or 6 month visa. He/She will need a flight ticket out of the country, Maybe a return ticket.
No but from your second extension onwards (ie after 59 days), you can obtain one, two or six month extensions
