AKA Crystal Meth. Very nasty substance, I understand.

I believe the Death Penalty is being sought by both the prosecutors and the victim's parents due to the nature and ferocity of the attack - a move I heartily support. And before any bleeding-heart liberals chime-in and have their twopennorth, you didn't see the horrific pictures of the girl's dead body that have been broadcast by ABS-CBN. I did and they were truly awful: she wasn't just stabbed, her skull was smashed to a pulp.

I don't have a problem with the death penalty in such a case, but I doubt if it will be carried out, because President Arroyo abolished it, if I am not mistaken, in 2006 or thereabouts.

It was not so much the liberals as the Catholic Church who wanted it abolished. Arroyo was very keen on keeping the Church on her side.

To execute these two killers, the law reinstating the death penalty would have to be made retrospective, which is contrary to the spirit of the common law and would really produce an outcry.

I therefore think the prosecution are "grandstanding".

I hope someone remembers to get the killers to provide the name of the pusher who sold them the shabu; in a sense he is guilty as well, since the horrific and frenzied nature of the killing was probably due to the influence of the drug.

I was just reading a RSS feed to my mobile that Nonoy is against re-instating it. For obvious reasons.
