Every USB should be type C - One key advantage is its reversibility, which means you can plug it in either way without worrying about orientation. This eliminates the frustration of trying to insert the connector correctly. USB-C also supports faster data transfer speeds, higher power delivery, and the ability to connect to external displays.

The problem with USB Mike, is that over the years, the standard has improved, speeds have gotten faster, cables been re-designed.

It doesn't help when the likes of Apple have their own USB standard, which necessitates more cables.

I have a USB hub, with cable connectors for USB-A, Mini USB, Micro USB, USB Lightning cable and USB C.

You are 100% correct, USB C is the way to go - even Apple have been forced to adopt this standard by the EU.
