Twitter banned in Pakistan for insulting Islam

    Well, once again Pakistan becomes a mockery to most of the world by banning Twitter for refusing to remove content that has outraged a few clerics.

    Personally though, I think this has more to do with silencing the Pakistani people and blocking a popular means to communicate to the masses than it does with Blasphemy. I mean, look at what Twitter did in the Arab spring!

    Not in my mind..

    It is a way to stifle freedom of expression and lawful debate, as it criminalizes anyone that dares to criticize anyone...

    It is not there to protect little people on the streets, but the more prominent ones or self important.

    people will not be able to express their true feeling on social media for fear of being sued for slander or libel, which in Phil are criminal offences and not civil as in the rest of the world.
