Travel Insurance

Any one out that can point me to cheap travel insurance from the Philippines to the UK please...!

Better question might be insurance with decent levels of medical coverage. My experience was that very hard to find.

Also need to understand duration of trip as that tends to drive cost.

Thanks for that, duration of trip is for six months, cost of insurance seem to be very high out there today....!

Wife was over here on a six month marriage visit visa and we ended up going for an expat health insurance policy which had decent limits. This was with I think img global. We never claimed on it so cant say how good they are

For six months then have to look for specialist policies and issue is philippines doesnt have decent limits.

Lots of options on Google, such as AXA operate worldwide.

Endsleigh used to do a world wide thing... not sure if they still do.

One thing you might want to watch out for is whether the policy covers you travelling from UK to multiple different countries and then returning to the UK for 6 month period or whether it simply covers you for multiple trips originating from the UK during the 6 month period - Unfortunately it's not always crystal clear from the wording

That is one of the issues as in for travel insurance it normally covers you from country you live in. So if living in uk need a uk policy and need to leave from UK. Also need a policy that has sufficient duration. Annual policies sold in UK only cover trIps of 30 days starting from uk.

This was one of reasons we went for the expat health insurance policy as didnt require living in UK and no limits on trip duration.

OP is looking for coverage starting in philippines for 6 month trip.

Think some of backpacker policy can cover starting outside UK and also long durations but do get pricy. Philippines policies were pricy, lacked high levels for medical costs normally about 40k pounds which is minimum for schengen area visa limits. Sufficient for something minor but when used to UK policies where medical coverage is £1m or multiple £'m not very comforting.

If buying from mon-philippines company then really need to check rules on starting country/country you are living in and also trip duration limits.you
