I am writing to ask if anyone can give any advice or had the same problem I have at the moment.

Me and the wife are going back to davao in july ( first time in 5 years ) and just had a quick browse at the government website and it states all but essential travel so means no insurance company will insure us in the uk. I have read on the internet that you can buy travel insurance in davao but I am very reluctant to do that does anyone else know if an insurance company in the uk will insure us or has anyone ever got insurance when they got to davao. Thank you

Thanks for that suggestion, John, I was going to make a thread about this topic soon as our holiday in Spain is in August.

Admiral are no different from any other insurer, FCDO warnings relieve them of any responibility to pay out in the event you need it.

I have been on high risk voyager but no matter what they cost I would rather suffer and fly to cebu where I am covered with insurance

Seems like the smart way to do it - just do the long haul to somewhere you can get insured and then try and get local insurance (for what its worth) when you fly on to the restricted destination - or not bother.

I've never been to Mindanao but we had past members here who lived there for a while and they considered it very safe.

Some of my wife's family are working/living there... no problems but then again they are Filipino.
