Yes which is why I agreed with you on the passport question as well, the Philippines is not like the UK you can get stopped at the exit border if you can't prove everything is ok about your travel to your destination and this is after the check-in desk, you can still be stopped.

I've long watched the degree of scrutiny of Filipino's leaving the Philippines while I was waiting in the exit queue and it's insane, remember I have exited the Philippines something like 32 times I've spent a lot of time people watching while in those queues and it is very tough for Filipinos.

I know a kid destined to study in Canada, stopped from flying from NAIA for some piece of paperwork it turned out he didn’t even need, broken bureaucracy at its finest, sour faced immigration.

I've read about the issues before but never really saw or experienced it before. Was worried enough about it before that took wife and one of kids to Singapore before we did the uk visa applications. Three of us went through immigration with wife holding passports and me holding the nearly two year old and think might have been one or two questions and straight through with no issues. Was same on future exits so always hard to guage the tales of off loading but definitely remember them. Not sure if traveling with me made process more smooth or just lucky. Sure we had all backup documents if necessary but do remember it being a worry. Probably should think about it for next time visit although four of us will have british passports and if all traveling I'm assuming less of an issue for wife who only has philippines passport.

Just an update. BPI, Pacific Cross do not cover Covid, only illness none Covid related. Unlike EU seems like Philippines insurance companies are unlikely or unwilling to cover Covid19 related illnesses.

Other issue from memory was that level of coverage for medical bills was quite low. Dont really want to have to claim on it but if do want to be sure the bills are covered. I was used to UK policy coverage values and sure philippines ones were a fraction of those. That said min coverage requirement for schgen countries visa isnt that high so maybe not an issue.
