    I have just read this in UKBA website;
    "A request can be made to post-date the visa for up to 3moths if the applicant does not plan to travel immediately."
    Can anyone please explain to me what it means?

    I am planning to come to the UK 2nd week of October, it means I will apply 3rd week of July as you have to apply maximum of 3months before your travel. Is the date of my visa starts on the date it has been issued? So if ever they grant me the visa second week of August (as I apply 3rd week of July), does it mean that I can fly end of August? I'm really confused of what I've read I'm sorry. Please explain it to me.

    The visa date starts on the date of your intended travel or the date the visa has been granted whichever is later.

    So it means it depends on them when the visa starts? It could be on the date issued or on the date of my intended travel?

    EXACTLY. whichever is later. In my case my intended travel date is Dec 7 and I got my visa Oct 27. Visa is dated Dec. 7

    If they happened to come up with the decision on Dec 9 then visa will be dated Dec 9 I think.

    I'm really confused now Our original plan is to apply first second week of July and my intended travel is mid of October. If ever granted with the visa, I thought it will start on when they released it as me and my boyfriend are planning to fly together after his work in Malaysia end of August, earlier than the intended travel date

    You have the intended travel date. Put that in your application since it's already PLANNED.
    Make up your mind and decide when you really want to fly and put that date in your application. You are submitting the application ahead of time. You don't have to be confused.

    If you plan to fly in August instead then put that date.

    My Fiance is in Japan atm and when we applied we were not sure when to fly to UK because his contract expires December 2016. Since we were already ready with the papers in August, we applied ahead of time - early September (more than 3 months) so we just adjusted the intended date of travel to earlier date. So our flight is Dec. 22, no problem with visa dated Dec 7. gives me enough time for CFO seminar. better get the visa dated earlier than needed.

    CFO? So we both need to attend seminar so that we'll be able to travel together to the UK from Malaysia? Sorry, I didn't know about this!

    Noooo.. Sorry if I have been confusing you. CFO is a seminar required for Filipinos married/marrying foreigners.

    You are applying for a tourist visa, it won't take three months to get a decision. Also, you do not need a cfo sticker.

    I was a little bit worried about CFO! Haha! So it's ok if me and my boyfriend will travel together in Malaysia? We won't be needing anything like CFO? Hehe

    If you don't mind @joi1991 I want to know what are the documents you passed from your sponsor/boyfriend's side?
