This would normally have been moved to politics but you've never asked for access to that forum John.
So this time this can stand here and be discussed openly, I am saying it is not politics but rather it is something much more than simple politics and open discussion is welcome including political comment.
Be clear I am not sanctioning other political threads in open forums and I've not discussed this with Rob or Dom.
But I was waiting for someone to bring this up and I'm glad you have.
Thanks and agreed I to am hoping the thread becomes a discussion on a broad range of social thoughts rather than dare I say it" fingerpoint at any one individual"
For instance the use of chokeholds seems to be a disaster waiting to happen and indeed it has, has the current vivid situation in the US compounded the issue.
Moreover I think regardless of what commentators might say there still appears to be a deep divide of race.
I think you can go all the way back to the 60s and ask " was this divide the real reason for JFK, his brother Robert and Martin Luther Kings demise" and has America moved on any?
I simply hope that these police officers in question are convicted, with appropriate sentences dished out.
You are not seeing in this video the earlier arrest and the handcuffing the man did not resist, he was then pushed round to the spot where they murdered him, you are also not seeing the shots of two of the four officers kneeling on his back while Chauvin knelt on his neck, that video was taken from the other side of the road.
One of them had only been 3 days on the job,I think he had no control over the situation and very little input into what occured. The Vietnamese officer however had badly assaulted someone in the past which led to an out of court settlement.
On the radio this morning that the guy who is up for murder was the training officer@
Yup Derek chauvin,second-degree murder,I think the probationary officer was just overtaken by the events.
Not true, one had been laid off for two years, the other two had been licenced officers since the middle of last year.
Maybe false news,I was just going from this which said only his third shift...
Watch this, if you can't be bothered to see the initial unfolding of events skip to 2 minutes 30 seconds but make sure you watch till the end and this is only the start of what they did to this man.
Or how about this I've copied from the point where three of them are pinning him to the ground.
Oh dear. As in “this is how it’s done, lads”.
Candice Owens really?
Here is the video in full I believe so I am not editing to try to make a point.
You might need to turn on the sound, it's off on my PC by default.
It's strange how if I ever watch any political comment video on Facebook I get steered gradually towards her.
She has a point. But the police dealt with this guy in a manner that warrants their own conviction for murder and accessories to that murder.
How about this:
That's storm-trooper tactics.
