Hello I'm here again to ask your help about the tax in the airport here in the Philippines .I'm leaving dec.31,2014 , i heard other Filipina says before we fly we need to pay a tax in the immigration .so tax is for what?
Secondly, my husband already book a flight for me in PAL airlines and the agency telling us that we don't need to pay a tax there the amount that we pay for my ticket is including a tax....And if we need to pay a tax how much is it?
I'm spouse visa going to uk...hope you help me thank you...

There are two "taxes" that you may have to pay at the airport: Travel Tax of Php 1,620 and Terminal Fee of Php 550. However you need to check with the airline, PAL in this case, because in many cases one or both of these taxes is included in the cost of the ticket.

I always pay a departure tax (terminal fee) when leaving the Philippines. The last time I left at the start of December from Cebu International I had to pay 750 pesos, it used to be 550 so I had the exact amount without knowing the increase in the tax.

Had to exit the airport to find an atm and then go back in

There to be an atm handily placed close to the tax point. Is it still there?

I never gave it much thought but is the tax paid by everyone? I'm thinking specifically about infants in this case. I'd get the wife to say she's an OFW but she won't have it plus I don't think there's no pulling the wool over the immigration officers eyes once she clocks her name in her passport.

Departed Cebu last September. No ATM near the tax collection counter. One has to go for a walk near the exit and fall in line again for baggage inspection if you bring one. :erm:

Its about time that every plane ticket worldwide included all the required taxes, it can be a real pain fumbling around for the money at the airport.

Are they still using the temporary scales Anne? I say temporary but probably been there for ages.

Which scales are you referring to? Probably no idea about it since we are used to equipment that are outdated

:) usually the weighing scales are part of the check-in process but in April they had some temporary weighing scales just prior to check-in. I just wondered if they were still there.

Haven't seen any, not that I'm aware of.

Ah OK shame. They didn't weigh our cabin luggage when the temp ones were in use which meant we got away with a couple of extra kilos. We had to leave lots of pasalubong behind because the check-in luggage was a bit frugal last visit. If anyone knows if infants have to pay terminal fee that would be appreciated

    I wouldn't disagree with that
