Whilst currying favour on his trip to India the PM has come up with this one.

"The Prime Minister has announced details of a super priority visa service which will allow frequent travellers from India to have their visas processed in just one day.

The new scheme begins in March and will be available at application centres in Delhi and Mumbai. It has been set up following feedback from prominent Indian businesses and will run alongside the current priority and standard visa services.

It is easier than ever before for Indian nationals to apply for a visa, with UKBA operating 12 visa application centres across India, more application centres than any other country.

This service does not replace the process for expediting visas on compassionate grounds.

    Merged the two threads.

Seems Mr Cameron is just starting to find out how badly his immigration rules and the UKBA are hurting British business!

Well he's either vote-buying or has discovered that offering an express lane can be very profitable.

I did mention this on another thread.

It seems to me that he wants that Eurofighter contract at all costs, and for that, he is prepared to heap further immigration misery on UKBA doorstep and de-facto unto us.:erm:

The unrestrained entry of students may bring some benefits to some of the learning institutions, but I just wonder how many of those students will drop out and start work illegally after a wee while.........

I do find this a bit much to swallow, given that the government wants to cut back on immigration etc etc

All they have to do is stop counting students as immigrants until they stay longer than the course they intend to enroll on! It gives a false image of immigration to the UK when the thousands of students who come to Britain from overseas stay for 4-5 years and then move on.

That said, Students should be given an additional 2 years following from a successful degree to get work experience if they so choose. For many, this helps them pay back the debt they got into in order to get that degree, or at least some of it.
