Or at least that is what Michael Gove reckons...

I dunno, but Teachers these days get the rough end of the stick like most other people who work for the state, getting reductions left right and centre. So, like all workers groups who face losses, they go on strike!

    What do you think Al?

I understand that pension changes is the real issue.

I think most people understand the "Why" and support that.

However, lots people (parents) are also going to be inconvenienced by this strike. I think they will not be so sympathetic.

:england:This is a very complicated issue.

For many years now (since the introduction of the National Curriculum) teachers have been subjected to a lot more (useless) jobs - mainly paperwork - which I know for a fact - is never ever read and mostly 'binned.'

I could (and indeed already have) write pages and pages on this - having been both at sharp and blunt ends of teachers' workloads.

Personally, I have the greatest sympathy for teachers - they are no longer appreciated nor respected - but, where would we be without them?

I shall not pursue this further here - but I shall be happy to discuss issues with anyone who wishes to take this further.
