spouse visa application

Hi everyone, i just finished my online application on spouse visa and printed it and just finished the appendix 2. Do i still need to fill up the vaf4a( personal details)?

Yes, fill in the VAF4a, this is all about your personal details.

Its a little confusing, the form you fill in online is similar to the VAF4a, to me it is a generic form that covers several different types of visa applications.

What i mean is, do i need to fill in theVAF4 Form if you fill in the online application?

You need to fill in both the VAF4a2 and the VAF4a.

You then fill in the online form (it is totally different) and submit it. This form basically gives you an application ID

I understand why you are confused as the form you fill in online is a similar form, but this form gives you a unique application ID with barcode which the UKBA will use as your reference throughout the visa process.

Its a funny thing as I seem to recall we didnt fill out the VA4A form. All the detail is of course on the online form. I seem to recall that the VA4A form was like a parallel form, a virtual duplicate?

Yes. So similar that you feel that you are duplicating your application. We were told not to bother with it.
