Something Cute

I think my handwriting was pretty good when I was younger. To be honest it's gotten more scrawly as I get older.
Don't know why.

I had some problems making my 'digital' signature at the Immigration Office. Just could get the hang of writing without seeing. The Officer just kept asking for another until it matched the one on my application form.
I don't sign much these days.

My wife has very nice handwriting.

Ah! See! I was thinking Pinoys have nicer handwriting. Chris almost couldn't read my first letter in which I wrote in cursive handwriting.

You brought me back some memories.

I remember when I was in 1st grade, my teacher forced us to learn how to write both in block-writing and cursive. I hated it, especially when you have to fill out a writing book by copying all the words, sentences and phrases. The book was like 50 to 80 pages or so. I have very sweaty and shaky hands and when I would write very long sentences, my sweat would drip on the paper making it unreadable. Because of it, I always have low marks in that class.

I remember I became so pissed that I stood up to that teacher and told her (in Filipino) that what we were learning was useless. That in a few years or so, cursive writing will be considered obsolete because of the computer. This was back in 1996/1997 when the computer (PCs) were still in the infant stage here in the Philippines. The floppy disks (and then diskettes) were still the 'in-thing'

She sent me to the guidance counselor, and then was also reprimanded by the principal.

I wonder where that teacher of mine is now. Time for my payback!

I was a member of the Computer Club back then, when you still had to study and know the MS-DOS commands.

So maybe I was just bias.

But really, I HATE that writing class! I think I burned those writing books after.

I don't know how it is now.. but I think during my primary through high school days pupils/students got some kind of abuse from teachers by making them write sooo much stuff.

They make you purchase so many notebooks and so many papers. They would write incessantly in the blackboard using chalk. Then they expect you to copy word for word. God I hated that so much.

And the worse thing is the teachers marked you for it. If you didn't copy what they were writing or have terrible hand-writing, you get bad marks.

I'm the type who likes to make things more efficient, so I just write keywords or make the phrases/sentences shorter. For me, it was the content that matters more. But the teachers back in grade school and high school didn't like those.

Especially those dreaded Ibong Adarna, Florante at Laura, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo.

That is why I like university/college more. I just photocopied everything or had the files sent to my email instead from the professor/lecturer.

Knightstrike is just jealous of the fun we get to have in January. Hahaha. Bitter!

Chris decided to quit visiting the forum but I think he will accept what papa will tell him not to do or to do. I'll ask him. But anyways his next visit
after this one would be about meeting the family in Davao.
