These are some of the shots I got from my nephews band in concert earlier this evening. Just had a quick jump through some of them so I didn't clean up all of the lighting issues (like a green glow from one of the pegs on the guitar)... Let me know what you think? 01 by Manc5, on Flickr 02 by Manc5, on Flickr 03 by Manc5, on Flickr 04 by Manc5, on Flickr 05 by Manc5, on Flickr 06 by Manc5, on Flickr 07 by Manc5, on Flickr 08 by Manc5, on Flickr 09 by Manc5, on Flickr 10 by Manc5, on Flickr 11 by Manc5, on Flickr 12 by Manc5, on Flickr 13 by Manc5, on Flickr 14 by Manc5, on Flickr 15 by Manc5, on Flickr 16 by Manc5, on Flickr
Not bad Sean, the first four could so with having the exposure pulled back a half a stop or maybe just a third. Some nice shots but you should look at your framing and try to recompose after locking focus, I had a bad habit with digital of getting caught up in centre subjects, you have many that aren't but it is always worth a moment of thinking before taking the shot, one of the car shots I posted recently had a nice view of the car but I caught a kid with a good expression in view at the same time, this would have been much better if I had not cut off his feet The trick with fixed focal length lenses like your 35mm, is to either get in real close or to zoom with your feet i.e. go back if the framing is not ideal. I like 7, 9 and 11 and also 10, but 10 would be much better cropped like this and even better if you had re-framed just a fraction downwards to get more of his hand by stepping back a little. Sorry for lifting your shot, I will remove it from my flickr in a few days 15 is one of the best, just noticed it now.!
No problem lifting the shot... Plenty of people on Facebook have I added a slight vignetting effect to number 10 to slightly fade out that arm. In number 11 there was an elbow in the bottom right that belongs to my nephew playing guitar.. But I will be cropping them to get what I want out of the shots. I got 166 shots in all, still not had a look at much more than 20 of them
