Solar Panels with battery

    Has anyone bought solar panels with inverter and batteries in the Philippines recently?

    I used solar panels with 140Ah batteries about twenty years ago in a radar station scenario. Those batteries are heavy but I suppose they are still easy to get hold of.
    I believe solar panels are more efficient these days, which is no surprise.

    We have a house over there and I am planning ahead.
    There is no power from the grid so it will be stand-alone.

    Any links appreciated. Thanks.

    No solar panels but have two deep-cycle lead acid batteries 120 AH each , 900 watt inverter, used it for brownouts only good for backup. Thinking of upgrading to a 3 kw system which should be enough to run my appliances.
    Batteries are very expensive here and don't last long, better to get Lithium batteries more expensive but last 5 or 6 times more than flooded lead acid batteries and can be discharged a lot more too so don't need as many.
    Just looked up on google. Prices are decent but could not see Lithium batteries only AGM.

    Thanks for the reply, Jim, which prompted me to search and find this (Obviously the link is in the U.S.):

    Apart from the power generation It also gives you a fair amount of well needed, daily, exercise and you can also use the kids unbridled energy for a good cause...

    That looks like something that my son could do an extraordinary amount of damage to himself and that's not taking into account how many pieces it would break down into.
    Sons with tools :eek::confused:
