Fond memories of the Early 70's when this was played and everybody running to the dance floor as it was impossible not to let loose when this came on. Not one for racists to watch or listen to.....Isn't music so boring these days?
back in the early 60's..in birmingham--a friend went to see a new rock band playing at the town hall. afterwards--he came way with a large photo of the group--each of the band had signed their autographs on it--2 in the wrong place--they were drunk it seems. they were called the rolling stones--i knew it would never amount to anything. i was wrong--they released "its all over now"--and the rest is history. great times to be a teenager.
I remember feeling shocked as a young lad when someone told me some of the lyrics to Brown Sugar and what they meant. From then on I realized girls were beautiful no matter what the colour of their skin was. What's in peoples' hearts is still the vital attribute for beauty.
On a side issue, I love my wife's olive skin but I wish she would love the colour of her own skin as much as me
My uncle lived in Newbury in the early 60's and a band was playing very loud in a house there and he told me they were young lads called the Rolling Stones and they were practising. Wish I'd gone to have a look!
same here--my wife would dearly love to be as white as a sheet. not for me--golden brown does it for me.
