Our memories do become blurred as we get older, bigmac.
Maggie May came out in 1971:

Hey... I saw him sing that one live at Watford Football Club circa 197'something, he was on before Elton John dressed up as Bee or something!

I prefer the Maggie May version on Let it Be.

The Irish influence on Liverpool and it's culture is immense, even two of the names of the Beatles are Irish - Lennon & McCartney. I was born in Liverpool and my family name is Irish too.
I went over to N. Ireland and Eire and felt quite a connection with the people there.

Loughrea - My Grandfather ... Just up the road from Ed Sheeran territory I think.

But your dead right about Liverpool was where my Grandfather landed, met my Grandmother in some kind of dancing club and then they headed down to London and got married, sadly they had my father!

Was thinking at sometime I might apply for an Irish Passpport and get us back to UK that way.

Looks so nice in Loughrea it would probably be a bit of a downer going back to the UK from there.
