.................has been my indulgence ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper. I spent the whole of last night listening to and watching these guys who played music for FUN! Isn't that what it's all about??? Allow me to share the great Showaddywaddy - I saw them when I recently went to the UK and they still send shivers up my spine. Real and enjoyable music - none of the ****************** our children suffer in the so called 'music' of today!! (My opinion only - please understand that) Long live rock and roll (and it WILL) Al. P.S. Lovely change of key about half way through!!
Catchy tunes by Showaddywaddy but not real rock n rollers like Elvis, Buddy Holly. Gene Vincent, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and the like, these are the ones I like but its good of show groups to keep the music alive! In the past I've seen Bill Haley, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee, all good shows in their own right. I would have loved to have seen Elvis live on stage in the early seventies, when he was in his prime before he piled the weight on and got onto the prescribed drugs roundabout that many people dont get off alive.
And then there was Glam Rocker, Gary Glitter, who also loved his music but is, fortunately, banned from entering The Philippines... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/philippines-bans-paedophile-gary-glitter-977403
I think that is fantastic, if I'd have been a few years older I would have done the same, I was only 17 when he died. Long live the King of Rock "n" Roll
