Recommended websites for sending birthday cake and gifts to my girlfriend in Philippines

Hey everybody,

Its my girlfriends birthday in just over a week and i would like to send her a birthday cake and some gifts. She says her family never really bother much with birthdays, but she deserves some pampering so im determined to send something nice. Can anyone recommend any websites that theyve used to send cakes or gifts and had good experiences with?

I have always found it more economical to use a site actually based in the Philippines, western sites offer to send gifts but at a premium.

Hi, yeah, I used islandrose to send flowers to her for valentines today which she received and was really happy with. But they don't really have that many gifts on there and the few that I would want to send are out of stock anyway because of the valentines day rush. So I was looking for somewhere else. Yeah, I don't know if its a cultural difference but she says that they don't really bother much with Christmas and birthday gifts etc. Is that just her family, or is that a common thing in phils? I find it kinda sad that she doesn't get much attention on her birthday. That's why I wanna surprise her with something nice. Its her first birthday since we met and I want it to be special.

Anybody else used pinoyexpressgifts.com? I'm sure I've looked at that website before but I've got a feeling something put me off it, can't remember what though. If lots of you have used it with no problems then I will give it a go . Not saying I don't believe you Timmers, just wanna make sure that you've not just been lucky when you've used them! There seems like a hell of a lot of dodgy companies to avoid when looking at this sort of stuff.

Like anything else Piglet303, you pay your money and take a chance, the main problem I find when using any sites like this is that you do not see the product yourself and therefore you don't know the quality etc. I've never had a problem with any site I've used regarding payment and delivery.

Let us know which site you choose and how you found the service.

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to look and give me your opinion. As I mentioned earlier I'm sure I've come across that site before and was put off by something, that's why I'm checking. Every website out there will have some bad and some good reviews, I understand that, but I'm just very wary of these types of website specifically because of what I've read about lots of them having very poor or non existent customer service and basically taking your money and either not delivering the goods at all, or delivering something that is very sub standard. Its a bit of a mine field. And the fact that Timmer's has used them a few times and had no issues is promising but I'd like to see a few people say they've used them and had no problems to make sure that Timmers wasn't just lucky. Like he said, you pay your money and take your choice I suppose
