Hi guys, a quick question while I'm starting to prepare documents for the Spouse visa application after my impending wedding. I'm renting a 1 bed flat and understand a letter of permission from the landlady that Jasmin can stay here is required for the application - has anyone done this or do you know if an email from the landlady would suffice, or does it need to be a proper signed letter? Thanks :)

A signed letter from the landlady or agent would be better, as in it looks more business like and believable.

Submit photos of your flat and a floor plan if you have one just to add extra weight. I submitted the floor plan and pictures from my home which were taken from the internet where it was being advertised.

i printed off emails from my agent. you also need a minimum of 6 months to run--or a letter offering a new lease or extension of 6 months or more.

My Fiance did the same. He made the floor plan and used advertisement photos for the fact that he has only slept there few days and didn't have his own photo. In one room which was tagged to be my son's bedroom, there was a big bottle of wine.

No, that was a welcome present for you.

When I moved into an apartment in Luxembourg several years ago there was a bottle of wine and a couple of beers in the fridge.

When I moved out I left the same there, just seemed nice to keep the balance.

Thanks Timmers, good advice, I'll search to see if the original advert is still about and grab the floor plan!

Thanks bigmac and good point on 6 months to run, didn't know that, I'll include the renewed contract which'll show a later end date :like:

Cheers for the quick helpful responses, appreciated :)

This thread is very helpful. I'll talk to my partner about this. Thank you so much for the idea.
