Those Italians have got style in spades. I mean, look at the bloke on the bicycle! I thought the people in Paris looked sharp, but Rome was on a different level. Even the Americans talk about Italian shoes! The Americans lost style when they made denims which were originally made for working men and not to step out looking sharp. The Alfa Romeo behind it looks old but the Mercedes looks prehistoric! I don't know what that brown car is because the people caught my attention.
It's a Lancia Stratos. Or a Lamborghini concept car. This thing: It is the Stratos Lancia Stratos Zero (1970) - Old Concept Cars edit: my search was "wedge shaped italian car 1970"
My accountant owned a Lotus Esprit similar in some respects but more conventionally car shaped and a bit bigger than this thing, both would be a nightmare to get in and out of. Saying that this kind of car shape is what I've always loved, angular, aerodynamic, pointy an element of the style of the Concorde, that was the future for me as a kid I always loved this kind of design, but realistically it was probably awful.
Edinburgh Castle, round the back (south). Yes this is a nice classic car. As a child in the 1960s I used to like this kind of car shape, I had a Dinky Mercedes die-cast model similar to this in design which I really liked, but I eventually grew out of liking this kind of classic car shape, my sister owned many cars over the years which looked like this Rover (a bit) for example an Austin Cambridge A60, she also owned a boxy Mercedes for many years. There has always been a tendancy for one marque to try to copy another marque and my favourite Honda, are no exception, my last mk VI Honda tried to emulate some 1990s BMW shapes and my current mk VIII is a bit lost between trying to establish their own look but still echo the Germans. I suppose there was a lot of back in forth in car design between Germany and the UK over the decades up to the 70s but personally I am not a fan of any of the German marques, on the other hand I did own a Honda Accord version of the Rover 620i and that was a very nice car but still I believe that was the time when BMW owned Rover but worked in colaboration with Honda on some parts and engines.
