Sorry if this is in the wrong place. After reading a few news articles about phillipines reopening for tourism on the 10 of Feb, does this mean I can enter without a visa as it was before and can I extend when I'm there or do I still need to require a visa before travel from the embassy in the UK? Any help will be greatly appreciated. And thanks in advance.

From Feb 10th you can enter without a pre-existing visa, but you have to test negative on an RT -PCR test taken within 48 hours before arrival.

I would like confirmation from some of our other members who travelled back in November with a visa that our printed NHS vaccination certificates were honoured back then as valid proof of vaccination, I think they were.

Official announcement and rules here :

Cheers mate thanks for the reply. I just want to make sure I have understood everything correctly before committing to booking a flight. So also is it correct that when I'm in gensan I can apply to extend past the 30 free days while iam there?

The visa waiver extension and conversion to a real visa has been in place for a long time and as far as I know they are reinstituting Executive Order No. 408 (s.1960) which provides the visa waiver, it was this order which was suspended during the pandemic I would imagine that reinstatement of Order 408 will bring back the right to extend at a local BI office once you are in the Philippines.

I have only ever extended on arrival once and that was in the old NAIA Terminal 1 I don't know how it is done now at NAIA Terminal 3 but you can arrive and then choose to extend at the BI office.

Prior to the visa waiver being extended to 30 days I twice applied for a full visa in London and I think I am going to do that again to get a multi entry visa as if I can I want to stay more than 4 weeks two times during this coming twelve months.

I've been looking and I'm sure the RT PCR test is to be taken 48 hours prior to departure from country of origin not prior to arrival?

From IATF Resolution No. 159.docx (doh.gov.ph)

Yeah I had interpreted it wrong, makes it slightly easier to travel via a very long flight route.

Anyone got any tips on how to plan a trip from the UK to Philippines because I'm losing hope trying :( I have been using sky scanner but I don't really understand about how transit works for different airports and if its allowed. Plus the time frame regarding pcr tests if yr transiting through an airport. If anyone would like to help me with this I would be most grateful, I haven't seen my family for over 2 years . Any help would be appreciated thanks in advanced.

Via Singapore from London, you can travel in a VTL ( Vaccinated Travel Lane) and be fully vaccinated. You must have your trip all booked on one itinerary with designated airlines chosen by Singapore Government eg Singapore Airlines, then Scoot Airline from Singapore to Philippines. You must have a PCR Test 48 before leaving and you are held in designated transit area in Changi Airport.

Emirates or Qatar Airways is better imo. Straight through via Doha or Dubai and again only PCR tests before leaving. Don't know if the new rules affect this, but no visa needed from 10th February and no quarantine. You must be fully vaccinated with proof of vacinnation.

Use Kayak for flights it's much better than Skyscanner imo ...

Great , thank you so much, I really appreciate the time u have taken to help me here. I will look into this straight away.
sorry to be a pain but just like to clarify about pcr testing. Say I fly to dubai do I need to take a pcr test in dubai Airport ( if so would that be made possible and a available?) before departing for Singapore? Or is the prc test which I would do in the UK still qualify me to pass through Singapore?

Again thank u everyone for helping me, I signed up on this forum in 2015 but never really contributed or been on here. So iam really grateful for your help.

Take the PCR test 48 hours before you fly out of UK. Make sure it has a digital barcode, name, passport number etc, printed is better and also screenshot. It will be accepted at all transit airports. You do not need to take another one in transit. Hope that helps.

Saves £800 on the journey as well! Visa form Notarisation, visa fees, postal costs, 3 PCR Tests, quarantine hotels, etc. Praying this will be over this year.

I think I would need 'baby stepped' through the whole process of going on a VTL flight. Its not that iam lazy to research myself honest. I've been reading too much and getting confused if anything. Lol its just that I'm anxious of making a mistake. Also I was looking at a flight with philippines airline, London to general santos with the 20 hour stop at Manila first. As this would be alot simpler and less confusing for me. But as u can imagine it's pretty pricy.
How do u know what is a VTL flight ? Is it specified when u purchase or is it just simply look at the list of allowed airlines from the Singapore Airport? ... again sorry to pick your brains, just desperate to get over there but anxious to make an error.

I'm going to get a 12 month multi entry visa, I think I am going to do that for the next few years, I just want to avoid the hassle of extending on the ground and to pre-empt any problems if another variant brings back restrictions.

I think applying for a visa still requires me to physically apply in person at the London Embassy but I can take a day or two off to do that and maybe combine with a visit to my eldest daughter who lives near London, that is a significant extra expense in travel regards fuel costs and so on as well as the £82 for the visa but worth it as if I get a visa mid April it'll cover me for an extended break at Christmas and maybe even a flight in March 2023.
