I'm seeing quite a lot of random words highlighted, look like weblinks, when I hover over them it's all advertising. (Plenty relating to Apple) This can happen on whatever webpage I'm viewing even here on the forum. What's causing it? How did it get there? How can I get rid of it ? I've been noticing a real troublesome slowdown with my PC especially when I typing something. It will often miss out letters. I've also noticed posts going missing, maybe due to delay when hitting keys. Any of the experts out there who can help me? Pleeeeeeeeeease
The site is not showing adwords to me, so it might be a virus of some kind. I've never seen anything like that on my machines as I've never been infected. What browser Peter? You probably have a browser extension that you did not ask for that is decorating your pages with Adware.
I'm using IE 9 What I see is that random words (can be anything) are highlighted. I only get re-directed to ads/surveys/coupon offers etc if I click the link. But it's just annoying me and is definitely causing speed issues. Even typing gets to be a real pain. Sometimes no re-action when pressing a key. I followed up on one link and it might be something called "browse to save" I'm trying to find out how to locate it on my PC and completely remove. Any help much appreciated.
Have a look at installed addons Click the cog on the toolbar on the right hand side and select manage addons. These are my settings, look for something that looks out of the ordinary, strange name or the likes. By the way 'Fiddler' in the list below is a web debugger it sounds a bit strange
Yes it did help Mike. Thank you. I found it. It was called Browse to Save. I used CCleaner to completely unistall, then restarted and created a restore point. All is now good with my computer. Back to speed and no problems typing and posting etc. Woooohooooo! Rep and thanks to you
