https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-60779001 "P&O Ferries has sacked 800 staff, with workers told in a video call that today was their "final day of employment". Some crew are defying orders and refusing to leave their ships in protest. The firm said it was a "tough" decision but it would "not be a viable business" without the changes" Words fail me. Good to see all of parliament united in condemning P & O. Surely any company with unionised members have to go through a process of consultation before making redundancies?
Just been watching the 3 minute redundancy video. Shameful and I guess big issues ahead for freight and the looming holiday season.
