Massages (not the ones with "extras"). I used to go for massages many times, sometimes a back massages followed by a foot massage. Could be in there for two hours, no problem. I wish massages were cheap and everywhere as they are over there, they make you feel so refreshed.
Likewise, I get one every visit. Great value for money and nice de-stresser after a long flight. I've also had the sit up massage in the mall executed by the blind man. Those guys know where to press.
Hmmm yes. Actually it was the Asawa Her aunties husband frequents those establishments and yes his wife is aware that he does, go figure!
Oh I love massages . I was thinking to get massage therapy course when I had a husband . I could teach him how to do it so we can massage each other
We have gone for many massages over the years in the Philippines, I have to say the quality is very variable, you get some people who clearly have talent and others that are just going through the motions, it is an art and not an easy one to learn. I once gave in to a street vendor who wanted to sell a short massage, please note Ana was with me at the time anyway this older lady gave an absolutely divine neck and back massage, that lady had real talent. I was never taught, but good massage is about giving what you would like to get in return, it is a reciprocal thing, while we fight like cat and dog far to often, in the good times she thinks I give a great massage. Interestingly it is a bellwether of how well a relationship is progressing, when you find yourself not wanting to pay as much attention to your partner during a massage then you know there are real underlying problems
Oh and my barber, best haircut ever anywhere on the planet, 200 metres from our place, anyway as an extra he does a neck massage at the end of every haircut, that massage is sheer bliss, the guy (not bakla) clearly knows what he is doing. P.S. it gets him a very good tip, I always pay about 200 peso for a haircut when his advertised fee is 50 peso still £7 cheaper than a crappy haircut in the UK
I usually just doze off every time I get massages. So I don't really get to comment if it was good or not. This also happens every time I get a haircut.
I just mis-read this bit in oss's post no 10: "Interestingly it is a bellwether of how well a relationship is progressing, when you find yourself not wanting to pay as much attention to your partner during a massage then you know there are real underlying problems " A few months back, K and I were staying in an hotel that offered a complimentary massage in the room. I persuaded her to take it whilst I wrote an article on my laptop. Or tried to... The masseuse was energetic, and there came a point when she wanted K to kneel, rather than lie down. "This is going to get interesting", I thought. Sure enough, K kneeled, as required, clutching a towel to her bosom to preserve her modesty, until the point when the masseuse yanked both arms back and used her feet on K's spine... at this point the inevitable happened... I thanked the masseuse for the floor show and gave her a decent tip.
I looove massages! Specially after the concert. I need that once a week as I carry violin all the time. I often ask the masseuse to extend the massage time.
It's not really painful, contrary to how it might look. And actually soothing, but it feels weird at first. You play the violin? Nice, do you have any Youtube video of you playing?
