I would like my wife to have a British passport when she can get it. I want us all in our family to be able to go on holiday whenever we want without having to go to consulates for shengen visas.
Exactly, the first holiday together for myself and Joy will hopefully be the USA. She has family there and it would be nice to go and visit them. And yup, some years later a British passport would ease that process.
The way i understand it Jean will first get a 5year residence here in Portugal then if we like swhe can have a 5 year residence in the UK and then travel freely in europe when we wish 5 years is also the time for citizenship if im not mistaken na:vhappy: On another note Alan how i understand it here in Portugal you can arrive one day then get your reside4nce the next(i did) then your missus applies for a shengan visa arrives here and gets a five year residence which can then be turned into the same for the uk without cost untill 3 months here you dont even need a job
And I was under the impression that portugal was only there to keep the Spaniards from getting to the beaches of Biscay.....
Think you will have to go to the US Embassy to get a visa for the US though, Sean. I believe this was tightened up after 9/11
I thought so, but if all goes to plan in 2012 then hopefully we will head over to the US for a few weeks in 2013.
